Event Description                   
Area Council Challenge
Have you ever wanted to see your city officials in action? Well then, come on out and watch your elected city officials, from surrounding cities, pit their skills against each other, as they compete in a variety of amusing contests. Each city, hopes to win the honor, of taking back to their city, our Council Challenge plaque! This event is guaranteed to change the way you see your city officials.
 
 
BBQ & Fajita Cook-Off
GrillMaster Competition

This is a tough competition for those teams that know how to use a BBQ pit. All teams must be entered in the Brisket Division. The other divisions include: Beef Fajita, Chicken, Pork Spare Ribs, Brisket, and Overall. SPECIAL EVENT:  MOSQUITO FESTIVAL GRILL MASTER DIVISION Pre-registration is required. 

 
 
 Dodge Ball Sting Tournament
DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT with 3 DIVISIONS (Division I: Youth 5-9 years old; Division II: 10-15 years old & up. Division III: 16 years & up Limited to 32 Teams Total.  1st & 2nd Place Team Award & 5 T-shirts per Team for 1st & 2nd Places in each Division.  Each team will consist of 5 players.  Pre-registration is required.
 
 
Doubles Horseshoe Pitching
This event is scheduled for Saturday.   22nd Annual Tournament.   $TBA Registration Fee.  First 30 paid teams receive free event t-shirts. Awards will be given for  1st through 3rd (2 per team) plus miscellaneous prizes. Pre-registration is required. 
 
 
Doubles Washers Pitching

If you like to throw washers, sign up now for the Great Texas Mosquito Festival's Doubles Washer Pitching to be held on Saturday. First 30 paid teams will receive free event t-shirts.  Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd (2 per team). Maximum of 60 teams.  May register onsite if maximum of 60 teams have not been filled before Saturday.  $TBA Registration Fee.   

 
 
Haystack Dive

Hey there kids, get ready to dive into a pile of hay to discover coins, prizes and the thrill of this fun filled event. Everyone has fun, including spectators of all ages! So come on out and enjoy the experience this exciting event. There is no entry fee, once on the festival grounds.  Scheduled for Friday, July 30th, and Saturday, July 31st, 2010.  Refer to Schedule for Times.

 
 
Mosquito Calling Contest

Those pesky mosquitoes are buzzing around ready to be called into the park by that special sound, call, or voice. You will not want to miss out on this one of a kind event. So mark you calendar and don't forget to bring your cheering squad to share in the excitement of the moment. remember, it is open season for those pros that can call the largest, fastest, and bloodsucking mosquito around. There is no entry fee, once on the festival grounds. You may sign up right before this event begins on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 under the Large Pavilion.  Time:  TBA

 
 
Mosquito Chase "Run"

This event scheduled for Saturday, July 31st, 2010 offers a 5 KM Certified Course. Be prepared for "Hot" and "Humid" weather. The first 125 paid entrants will receive a free t-shirt. The registration fee includes one (1) day admission for Saturday to our festival.    Register On-line in January 2010 by clicking the Sign Me Up box below.....

 
 
Mosquito Legs Contest

Got those good looking Mosquito legs. . . then put on your shorts and come on out for the funniest event ever, as the contestants strut their legs for the crowds and judges. You could be the center of attention, as you buzz away, the winner of the best - looking mosquito legs title "2010 Mr. or Ms. Mosquito Legs". There is no entry fee once on the festival grounds. So bring your friends, family, and yourself to sign up for this event, right before it begins on Saturday under the Large Pavilion. Time: TBA

 
 
O' You Beautiful Doll

Calling all you, O' You Beautiful Dolls out there...it is your time to shine!  Enter that special boy or girl in this mini pageant, where the MC talks with those adorable kids to bring out the most outrageous answers, adorable smiles, and some personalities you would never expect.  This event will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 10:00 a.m..  Pre-registration is required. 

 
 
Senior Citizens Bingo

Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. come join in the fun with this special time period for those that are 65 years or older (or a resident of a Convalescent Home, Assisted Living Home, or Seniors Group).  If you are with a group, please contact our office at 800-371-2971 to make advanced arrangements. BINGO is the name of the game for this year's morning session!  Hope to see you there!!!

 
 
Skeeter Beaters Baby Crawling Contest

On your mark get set and it's crawling time again...so parents get those babies crawling at our return event the Skeeter Beaters Baby Crawling Contest.  Your child could become our new fastest crawler.  $TBA Entry Fee.  Pre-registration is required.

This survey is so that we may better serve our festival patrons in the future. Survey cards are located at the information booth. Survey cards must be completely filled out to be eligible for the drawings. Only 1 per person and all duplicates will be discarded. You must be 18 years or older to participate. After each winner is announced on the Main Stage, they must go to the Information Booth within 5 minutes to receive their reward. Must be present to win.
 
Willie Man-Chew's Treasure Chest

Buy an adult ticket to our festival and have a chance to open Willie Man-Chew's Treasure Chest. It is filled with prizes waiting for 25 lucky festival patrons to unlock the chest each evening to see what they have won. The Brazoswood Gate will be issuing keys each evening, between the hours of 6:01 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. each evening, to the first 250 paid adult tickets sold on Thursday, July 29th, the first 250 paid adult tickets sold on Friday, July 30th, and the first 500 paid adult tickets sold on Saturday, July 31st, 2010. Willie Man-Chew's Treasure Chest will be waiting, at the Great Texas Mosquito Festival's souvenir booth, for those lucky key holders to unlock his chest and reveal his or her prizes.
